GH Spoilers: Nikolas Hiding Esmé To Keep Ava From Divorcing Him?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and rumors tease that Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) might be hiding Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) to keep Ava Cassadine (Maura West) from divorcing him. Viewers will note that he did find one very muddy shoe when he looked for Esmé and keeps pushing the envelope that says marrieds can’t testify against each other in court.

Ava made a good point to Nikolas that falls into bodies of water from high distances are survivable, using herself as an example. The same happened to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nikolas himself, although he had a gunshot wound to deal with. It turned out that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was nursing him back to health after some Greek fishermen found him and got him to Victor.

Nikolas had just gotten to Wyndemere Castle right after Esmé went over backwards after a struggle with Ava, so it’s entirely possible he found her alive. Esmé may have not been too badly injured if the water wasn’t freezing and soft mud could have broken her fall if she hit any ground.

GH Spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine Doesn’t Want His Great-Uncle’s Help

However, if Nikolas did find Esmé and has her somewhere, he doesn’t want his great uncle Victor’s help; he’ll confess to him that he murdered Esmé. He wants to protect Ava from any legal consequences since he knows that Esmé could quite possibly frame Ava for her attempted murder. She could even fake her own death and still frame Ava for it, even from “beyond the grave”. That would be a good reason for Nikolas to keep her stashed away and her survival secret, because she obviously cannot be trusted. Nikolas also feels a responsibility to protect his son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) from any retaliation from Esmé so when Victor offers his help in finding her, he’ll tell him she’s dead.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine Understands Ava Cassadine’s Anger

Unfortunately, Nikolas was not able to prevent Esmé from spilling the salacious tea about their naked romp to Ava so he came clean to her himself. He understands her anger and betrayal but she was ready to sign the divorce papers they’d prepared for their clean start right there and then. If Esmé did survive, Nikolas may be so desperate to fix things with his wife that he’d fake Esmé’s death and stash her away somewhere to hang on to Ava.

It may take a long time for Nikolas to be able to woo Ava back into love with him again and get her forgiveness. But he obviously didn’t think very far ahead, because he’ll either have to keep Esmé captive forever or finish her off himself!
