GH Spoilers: Nikolas Fights Off His Feelings Toward Esmé

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveals Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) might have fallen for Esme Prine’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) attempts to lure him off the right path and into disaster in the past, but he’s learned his lesson in the hardest way possible. Esme is back — and she’s pregnant with his child, allegedly. She’s attempted feigning illness.

She even pretended she had taken half a bottle of prenatal vitamins when she really flushed them down the toilet. So far, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) has called her bluff each and every time, but Nikolas has been less inclined to. This is likely because he’s more emotionally attached to his unborn child than he realizes and isn’t thinking as clearly about Esme’s behavior. That could backfire on him the next time she tries to lead him astray. Will it work?

Esme is already laying the groundwork for her next plan. So far, she’s tried attacking Nikolas and reminding him of what he and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) did to her, but that only made him grow more defensive and shut Esme down. Every time they engage, he has the luxury of just leaving the room and locking the door behind him. How convenient!

As she’s started to make demands, testing the waters if you will, Nik has recently obliged some of them. Esme opened up about her childhood traditions around Christmas time and how much it meant to her to have decorations around for the holiday season. Were her stories rooted in truth? Who knows, but Nikolas was swayed by her show of emotion and she’s not going to forget that as she tees up her next plan to appeal to his softer side.

Esme has recognized she isn’t going to get very far by chastising Nikolas or hating on his wife and son. Instead, she’s got to appeal to the one part of him she knows they can relate to — their baby. She knows he cares about the baby’s wellbeing, because any time he’s been even moderately worried that something was wrong, he has called Elizabeth — a nurse — for help. Esme is going to try her best to get Nikolas to embrace her again, with the thought in mind that maybe she could stick around and raise this child with him. He’s not going to fall for it though — yet.

However, while Nikolas is busy seeing Esme for who he knows her to be, Elizabeth doesn’t have that much experience. Sure, she knows what Esme did to Cameron ‘Cam’ Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy), but she hasn’t had up close and personal experience until now. Esme’s manipulative ways just might work on Elizabeth, who just may be gearing up to pretend Esme’s baby is her own and feeling rather guilty about it.
