General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) will have some reservations. Might he think that Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is not good enough for Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) when he sees things turning serious?
General Hospital Spoilers – Turning Into Grandpa?
Back in the day, it was Ned himself that fought against the elders in his family, and led a double life as Eddie Maine, rock singer. Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) were appalled that he wanted to be a singer instead of a businessman. But Ned had family money and money from working in ELQ even if he didn’t have money coming in from his music, Chase is a different story.
Chase is on suspension from the Port Charles Police Department and Brook Lynn has only the family money to live on. Ned himself is appalled at the thought of turning into Grandpa and thinking maybe Chase isn’t good enough for his daughter, because his music career may not be profitable.
GH Spoilers – A Real Job?
It is a sad fact of life that entertainment or artistic career choices sometimes take a long time before they make any money. The phrase “starving artist” didn’t just come out of nowhere, it came out of musicians’, songwriters’, and artists’ personal life experience. Ned had enough advice back in the day demanding that he work at his real job, ELQ, and abandon all references to Eddie Maine and basically kill his alter ego. That’s one reason that Ned and Brook Lynn’s mother, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) didn’t work out even though Lois made plenty of money through the record company he recorded for. Another thing that worries Ned is if Chase does return to the force; is she really cut out to be a cop’s wife, knowing he may not come home some night?
General Hospital Spoilers – Ned Quartermaine Worries
Ned can see that as long as it took for Brook Lynn and Chase to even move forward in their relationship, now that they are he worries. They could get serious enough to marry and there’s no guarantees Chase will be successful enough in a music career to make serious money. Brook Lynn was coming along pretty well until she chose to leave her mother’s management of her career and get mixed up with that unreputable Linc Brown (Dan Buran).
But for now, he holds his tongue to see how things fall; even though they look like they’re going to work out they may not. It may be too soon to tell, especially since Brook Lynn seems to want to wear the pants in the couple and he can see Chase doesn’t necessarily like it.
