GH Spoilers: Nancy Lee Grahn Announces Exit

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nancy Lee Grahn has won legions of fans for her portrayal as former legal eagle Alexis Davis. Alexis is as real as they come and her life has been full of teaching moments as well. In the not-too-distant past Alexis was diagnosed with osteoporosis and she has long been a role model for those in recovery.

So it will come as a dismay to learn that she is not going to be seen in Port Charles, New York for a while. What gives? Let’s unpack what we know about this news.

Grahn tweeted the following: “Was on #gh yesterday with my grown women pals @GenieFrancis & @finolahughes & today with my TV prof as I lake it with my real life prof. All good. Won’t see me in PC for awhile, hope you enjoy, but I’ll be here, FB & trying to figure out IG.”

Well, at least there’s that—fans should still be able to engage with their fave actress via social media.

She didn’t go into details, but it sounds like the lovely and talented actress is taking a well-deserved summer break. Both Finola and Genie also take established summer breaks and it’s entirely likely that Grahn is getting in some R&R with her SO, musician Richard Smith.

Grahn’s fans also loved the ladies-only scene Grahn references with one posting: “I loved all 3 of you amazing actresses. Yesterday’s brunch episode was PERFECT for what many of us fans LOVE to see. GIRL SQUAD gatherings!!! I am very sad to read you’ll be off screen. I love you and I’ll miss Alexis’s sass.”

Another fan posted, “Loved the Alexis, Laura, Anna scenes yesterday! Alexis should be brought into the Cassadine mess with Laura & Anna, it is her family. Sad Alexis will be M.I.A. for a while & by spoilers so will Laura. Late summer is going to suck on #GH!”

Grahn made her daytime debut as Beverly Wilkes on One Life to Live in 1978 and won an Emmy for her work as Julia Wainwright Capwell on Santa Barbara. She debuted on GH in 1996 and has deservedly won an Emmy for her portrayal of troubled but loveable Alexis Davis.
