General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Michael Blake Kruse recently joined the cast of the daytime soap. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actor shares his experience so far.
Kruse is the latest actor that joined the General Hospital ensemble. He made his debut on the episode that aired on March 30 as the handsome new cop, Rory Cabrera. His first scene was with Tabyana Ali, who plays Trina Robinson and William Lipton, who plays Cameron Webber.

During the interview, Kruse shared that he’s trying to be more active on social media to engage with the fans who are extremely excited about him joining the soap. He’s having a lot of fun and he’s excited to be a part of the show.

The actor shared that before he landed the role, everything started out as a typical self-tape. He knows a lot of people in the military and law enforcement, making this role particularly special for him.
He didn’t hear from the network after sending in his self-tape for a week or so. Then he received an email informing him about a producer session in L.A. He did one take and then after a few days, he received a call about a network test. He was both excited and nervous during that time. But the network test never took place because they decided to offer him a job right away.
The actor admitted that he’s used to making features and guest appearances. But he weighed his options and realized that taking the offer for a long-term commitment would be beneficial for him.
General Hospital Spoilers – Who Is Rory Cabrera?
Kruse describes his character as someone who is honest. He’s the type of cop who goes by the book and genuinely wants to serve and help people. He wants justice to be served but that also means making sure that criminals get due process.
The actor admitted that he was nervous on his first day.
“There is stuff that’s written that I never have to audition, and I just show up and they tape it and I’m just hoping that they agree and find some entertainment in how I chose to do the scene,” he explained.
Kruse believes he’s already finding his groove. It’s also not that difficult for him to play the role because he can relate to Rory so much.
