GH Spoilers: Mac Makes Progress Bonding With Cody, Maxie Wants Cody To Stay Away!

General Hospital spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) just made the admission that if she was dating Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth), she might have found herself attracted to Port Charles newcomer Cody Bell (Brock Kelly). But when she heard Maxie’s admission, her mom warned her that Cody would not be a good romantic choice for her. Thinking that Cody was bad news or a criminal, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) clarified that Cody seemed like a nice guy, but he might also be Mac Scorpio’s (John J York) son, making Maxie and Cody unofficial siblings since Mac raised Maxie.

Maxie and Felicia both think Mac would benefit from the new relationship, and that perhaps Mac and Cody could actually have a father and son relationship. Mac wasn’t so sure. He believed that he never had any children of his own but he treated Maxie and her younger sister as if they were his. Mac isn’t sure Cody would add anything to their family’s life but more complications. He can’t help but be curious, so he asked Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to tell him what she knows about Cody under the guise of wanting to eliminate Cody as a suspect in Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) attack.

After Britt admitted she didn’t know a lot about Cody, Mac left before answering Britt’s question about if Mac is really more interested in Cody for more than just police business. Britt summoned Cody and warned him that Mac had taken an interest in him and Cody had no idea. But he wanted to get out of town if he was going to become the scapegoat for an attack that he had nothing to do with. Cody then badmouthed Mac just as Maxie arrived.

Although she tried to reassure Cody that Mac didn’t want to pin a crime on him, Cody remained unconvinced and continued to make derogatory comments about Mac. Maxie soon became furious and told Britt that she had changed her mind and that Cody wasn’t worth getting to know. So even as Mac decides to reach out to Cody, look for Maxie to do everything in her power to keep them apart. She won’t want Mac to get hurt if Cody turns out to be a con man. And after she heard him talk about Mac the way he did, Maxie may take a very long time to come around before she accepts Cody into her family.
