GH Spoilers: Is Carly Corinthos Being Recast?

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveals when Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos, GH) revealed that she had tested positive for COVID, her fans immediately reached out with support.

Many sent their good wishes but some viewers were concerned and wondered if the role of Carly would be temporarily recast as it was done with some other characters. Wright assured fans that this will not be the case in her instance.

General Hospital Spoilers – Laura Wright Is Recovering

While the actress is recovering and has to be isolated she has been enjoying some shows. When a fan queried about her status she noted, “I’m good. And we are on break right now so I’ll be good when we start shooting again.”

Bear in mind that Wright and her on-screen partner, Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) are set for some fan events in August, so it looks like everything will be going according to plan and Wright will be back in time to shoot as Carly again when the show officially resumes filming.

It was during the planned hiatus from filming, their break from work, that Wright went on a vacation with her partner, Wes Ramsey (ex-Peter August) and her family for a vacation in Colorado.

She has been sharing some fun photos of their adventures which includes; air balloons, horseback riding, white water rafting, and more. Sadly though on July 8, the actress took to her Instagram story where she revealed that as their vacation was coming to an end she tested positive for the virus.

General Hospital Spoilers – The Show Has been Recasting Characters When An Actor Is Away

In recent times, the show had to temporarily recast a few of their cast due to the virus. Robert Adamson (ex-Noah, The Young and the Restless) had to fill in for Chad Duell as Michael Corinthos, Linday Hartley (ex-Theresa, passions) had to fill in for Kelly Monaco as Sam McCall and Priscilla Garita (ex-Theresa, Passions) had to fill in for Inga Cadranel as Harmony Miller.

Outside of the virus, temporary recasts also include; Stephanie Erb replacing Nancy Lee Grahn as Alexis Davis and Brad Schmidt replacing Johnny Wactor as Brando Corbin.

So, fans, are you excited that Carly will not be recast and Wright will be back right where she belongs?
