GH Spoilers: Get To Know Michael Blake Kruse, Port Charles’ Rory Cabrera

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Michael Blake Kruse made his GH debut when Rory Cabrera, a rookie cop, appeared on March 29. It seems that Rory could be a potential love interest for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), or at least competition for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). What do we know about this new G.H. star?

General Hospital – How Michael Blake Kruse Got The Job

General Hospital’s Kruse says this journey started with a self-tape from his home in Iowa. This is Kruse’s first daytime role and he says he felt connected to the character right away. Kruse says he has several friends and family in law enforcement who helped him to prepare for the role. Kruse admits that he feels connected to these roles but after not hearing anything for a week he began to get concerned. Kruse was thrilled to get an email from the producers about the job. This meant that he had to do an in-person audition bringing him closer to paying the part. After anxiously awaiting a few more days, Kruse was informed that he had the role.

GH – A Crash Course In The Production Of Soaps

General Hospital’s Kruse got a crash course in how quickly soaps moved once he got on the GH set. Kruse admits that on day one he felt like he was drowning. Kruse says day two was a little better because he felt like he was at least treading water. There really isn’t time in the soap world for someone to show you the ropes, you pretty much have to sink or swim to keep up. Kruse says he did his best to learn on the fly and after a few more weeks he feels much more at ease on the set.

General Hospital – A Little Bit Of A Spark

General Hospital’s Kruse admits that the director wanted them to play the scene with a little bit of a spark. Rory wasn’t sure if he believed Trina but she was cute and very anxious. Rory wanted to try to ease the tension he felt in Trina by offering her a soda. Trina fans were very impressed with their interaction and seem to want more. Has Rory edged out Spencer as the number one contender for Trina’s affection?

Kruse has grown very fond of his alter ego and is grateful for the warm welcome he has received from fans. Kruse admits to being surprised at how invested soap fans are in the stories and how much they know about the history of these storylines. Kruse is confident that fans will see that Rory has a good heart and the best of intentions very soon.
