General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) return as a gangster is imminent, but according to Maurice Benard, he won’t be reconciling with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) any time soon! She’s going to be paired with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) – surprise, surprise, her Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) stand in, which many General Hospital fans won’t like; but what even more fans won’t like, more than likely, is that Sonny’s moving on completely with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)!
General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos, Gangster, And Nina Reeves, Mob Moll?!
General Hospital viewers will recall how Nina has tried to keep Sonny in good behavior and not doing destructive things already, which viewers will admit does come from a good heart and good intentions. That is one of the things that has drawn Sonny to Nina, her good and caring heart and feeling she wants the best for him – the only problem is, it’s her idea of the best, and not always his! General Hospital viewers who remember her when she was with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will remember that she tried to reform him, and while she did encourage him to make a change for the better, ultimately she left him!
That was because he tried to fix a very important thing for her but went around it the wrong way, namely, hiring Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) to be a daughter for her when the trail went cold with her real daughter. Nina couldn’t forgive the deception Valentin used, even though he meant well – ironically, she did the same thing those nine months Sonny was presumed dead and living as “Mike” in Nixon Falls.
GH Spoilers – Valentin Cassadine’s Life Sometimes Brought Danger To The Door
General Hospital viewers will recall that Valentin’s life sometimes brought danger to the door – most notably in the person of his former lover Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) – General Hospital viewers will remember Cassandra came at her with a syringe full of an unknown substance. Nina stabbed Cassandra, in self-defense, with her own syringe, putting her into a months-long coma which it took Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) to bring her out of after being lured to a clinic in Canada where Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was being held.
General Hospital viewers know that Nina can be tough when she has to –but the big question is, can she handle Sonny’s life as a gangster should a gang war erupt? Will Nina support Sonny’s “business” and his activities connected to it, or will she be continually trying to reform him like she did Valentin for so long until she tired of his deceptions? If she does, how will Sonny respond – try to keep his love life separate from “the business” like he did for a while with Carly, still exposing both him and Nina to danger?
General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Reeves May Leave Sonny Corinthos Over Deceptions
General Hospital viewers can pretty much predict that if Gangster Sonny keeps “the business” and his activities connected to it a secret from Nina and she finds out, she’ll leave him over the deception just like she did Valentin! Sonny’s relationship with Nina will keep him in a constant bind, because General Hospital viewers know that Nina will never put up with him being in the mob and she may put herself or both of them in danger trying to protect him from himself or others!
The enemies she could encounter being with Sonny are much more dangerous than another woman of similar strength and size trying to stab her with a syringe, like she ran into with Cassandra and she won’t know how to deal with them! Cassandra may have been connected to a mob overseas considering she was a drug lord, but there was no one but her that Nina had to defend herself against – Sonny’s enemies are much different and much more numerous! They may, indeed, be much more dangerous as well!
