Alexis made sure Finn knew he could open up to her, but he swore to Elizabeth he wouldn’t tell anyone, for the sake of her three sons who don’t yet know about Elizabeth’s not-so-happy news. However, Finn is going to bump into someone else at the exact wrong time who he thinks deserves to know more than anyone else. When he sees Ava at the nearest bar, will he make a beeline for the door —- or pull up a stool next to her?
The next time Finn finds himself feeling weak and wanting to ease the sting of his heartache with whatever he finds at the bottom of a bottle, he won’t have his friends and family around to stop him. When he dropped by Charlie’s Bar the other night after Elizabeth delivered her crushing blow, he wasn’t thinking clearly and thought he would be able to escape the pain for a while without staying off the wagon. Finn is smarter than this and he knows how addiction works. While he had a troubling problem with abusing narcotics, he chooses to remain sober from alcohol as well because it may tempt him to lose control in other areas and abuse drugs again. Is that where Finn is headed when there is no one around to stop him?
Finn is going to swing by the bar again on his way home. This time around, it might not be Charlie’s but he is going to find a familiar face there as though she was waiting on him. When Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) pulls up a bar stool, the bartender knows it’s going to be a long night. She might be wrapping up a convo with her friend and attorney, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), who is going to find out from her that Elizabeth is pregnant by Nikolas. As Scott sidesteps Ava’s impending legal issues to check on his daughter-in-law, Finn just might fill his empty seat.
The problem may not be that no one is around to stop Finn, but that someone is around who could encourage him to indulge a bit. Ava is known for reveling in her feelings with a good martini in hard. She’s down with self-medicating and knows she isn’t fond of learning healthy coping mechanisms. Finn, on the other hand, isn’t the reckless type.
He is a calm and pretty rational guy. When he’s angry, he takes it to the gym and works out his frustration in a safe way. This is out of character for Finn, but Ava doesn’t know him well enough to know that. All she’s going to know is they’ve both been burned in the same way. Will commiserating with Ava look too appealing for Finn to turn down? It sounds like it! Stay tuned for more General Hospital news and spoilers as this storyline continues to develop.
