GH Spoilers: Fans Overwhelmingly Want A Spinelli-Maxie Reboot As Austin Hits The Highway

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal not many GH fans are weeping over the loss of the lackluster and loveless relationship between Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Can we say it already? Thank you, GH! There was zero chemistry happening between those two and the only time we became excited was when we thought Maxie was about to lay it out for him and leave him in the dust.

Hallelujah! It’s a Christmas miracle! In the wake of Austin and Maxie’s relationship demise, will she pick up on the cues Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) has been sending her way for months? Fans reported to Soaps in Depth, and 89% were in favor of a Maxie and Spinelli do-over, while only 11% were Austin and Maxie fans.

Maxie thought she gave herself a reprieve after Peter Ramsey (Wes August) flew the coop and left her separated from her child and longing to get him behind bars. In reality, Maxie was only holding off on embracing a relationship with Austin at that time because he already knew too much and she didn’t want him to figure out her baby swapping scheme with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). This time around, we think she’s going to take more time before she jumps back into a relationship. A hopeless romantic, Maxie finds it hard to resist love when it could be staring her in the face, but she just might not pick up on what Spinelli is dropping anytime soon.

Spinelli might not care for the men Maxie has chosen to date, but we could write that off as him having legitimate concerns about their character and the way they have treated Maxie. He really came to like and respect Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).

At the same time, he was rather consumed by his own relationship with Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson), and they lived across the country in Oregon. Now that he’s been back in Port Charles for some time, and he and Ellie are long over, Spinelli has once again fallen for Maxie — and everyone but her is going to see it. Will Maxie take him up on his offer? Maybe 2023 will bring something special for them, but it’s not happening just yet.
