Nikolas might’ve thought he could win Ava over by promising to give up his freedom for hers, and Ava took that thought into consideration, but she’s not making any rash moves. Ava’s experience the last several years have changed the way she approached conflict. She’s willing to move through the pain — even if numbed by a few vodka martinis — but she’s not going to look the other way when someone hurts her or give someone a second chance without thinking it through.
Ava has needed time away from Wyndemere and Nikolas to collect her thoughts and figure out how she really feels about her husband since he betrayed her by sleeping with Esme. Since Ava left the hospital after being hooked, she’s had some time to reflect on Nikolas’ decisions, as well as what the Cassadine prince is willing to do for her. It looks like Ava is ready to return home to Spoon Island, but there might be a crimp in her plans now , and she won’t see it coming.
Now that Esme is back, she’s showing no sign of interest in leaving Port Charles. Esme is a cultured girl. She’s not interested in squirreling away in a Canadian hostel any longer, nor does she want to be holed up in Wyndemere forever. After all, she’s got scores to settle. But for now, she’s going to rely on a heavy hand of blackmail to get herself off the hook — pun intended. Esme needs an alibi, and she just might coerce Nikolas into giving her one. How will Ava react to such a display of support for Esme, and what will she have to say about Esme’s surprise return with a baby on board?
When Esme first came face to face with Nikolas, he was stunned to see she was alive and standing in his living room. As she made a mad dash to the nearest exit, he grabbed the hood of her coat and immediately knew who she was from standing behind her. As Esme’s serious but sinister side came out and she made her demands of Nikolas, he appeared overwhelmed and desperate to find a way out of the new circumstances that had landed in his lap.
Still, despite wanting his marriage with Ava to work and wanting nothing to do with a child with Esme, Nikolas is a man of reason. He knows Esme’s assertions are well thought out. He knows she’s right that Ava won’t stand for any of this; he will lose her. What choice will he have but to succumb to Esme’s demands, and will they really be all that bad?
As Nikolas starts to entertain the idea that he is going to be a father again, he will keep Esme and the baby a secret from Ava, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and anyone else he can — for as long as he can. As Esme comes to only have Nikolas to rely on for every and any form of support, she just might ignite the savior complex inside of him that he’s been longing to feel again. Will Nik actually end up choosing Esme over Ava? Stay tuned right here for more GH news, updates, and spoilers.
