General Hospital viewers will remember that after the most recent Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) related gaslighting incident at Elizabeth’s house, Finn came rushing over when Elizabeth called; he decided that she needed more than just a couple of patrol cars keeping an eye out! Besides, as General Hospital viewers will recall, the PCPDs are stretched pretty thin the way it is, and just because Chase is still on suspension, it doesn’t mean he can’t do anything privately.
Elizabeth was a little bit hesitant at first, but when Finn pointed out someone apparently was getting in and out in spite of the security alarm, she realized he had a point. Chase came equipped with security cameras and motion detectors to install on the outside of the house and said he’d stay there at night as well; that way they should be able to get to the bottom of who is doing these things.
General Hospital viewers will see Chase be surprised while on surveillance and reports back to Finn – he heard a noise outside, checked the cameras – nothing; nothing except Elizabeth’s ring, in the mailbox! Both Finn and Chase are blindsided – Chase set the one camera to point down directly at the front door, where the mailbox is; the motion detector went off when Chase heard the noise, but nothing on the camera! General Hospital viewers can imagine how disconcerting this is for everyone – and then there’s the question of how the ring got in the mailbox; even if they had an animal bandit like a raccoon or a crow, all the doors and windows are locked!
And raccoons and crows take their treasures to their dens and nests, not put them in someone’s mailbox; is Aiden Spencer (Enzo DeAngelis) right about a ghost? Elizabeth described her nightmarish visitor in her nightmare, and if it was a ghost it is definitely not Franco’s – he wouldn’t scare her like that!
General Hospital viewers can expect Finn and Chase to puzzle over the strange migration of Elizabeth’s ring before bringing her into the loop. They’re not sure what could have set off the motion detector on the camera unless it was a burst of wind or something – maybe a bird flying by or a bee, something small? General Hospital viewers can imagine how frightened Elizabeth might be when they tell her this, and Chase offers up another suggestion as well as asking where she last saw her ring!
He understands that Elizabeth might be hesitant but Finn thinks it’s a good idea – maybe two more cameras inside the house – but only by the insides of the front and back doors. That would not be where anyone would be expected to be caught on a camera unclothed or anything like that, and that way anyone going in OR out or close to the doors would be caught on camera; not knowing anything else to do, she agrees.
