Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) actually blackmailed Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to engineer a perfect Society Setups match between him and Britt; he had leverage on him. Cody knows a secret and Spinelli agreed to go into the database and pull their profiles and set him up with her. Britt agreed to one date –mainly to get rid of him, she’s likely plotting to give him the most miserable date ever in the history of male-female relationships.
Britt would rather die in a well full of rattlesnakes than to date this uncouth cowboy some call “Truck Nuts”! But the only way she can think to get rid of him is to do something to totally turn him off.
Brad has been trying to find a match through Society Setups too, but he never has any luck; it doesn’t there’s anyone out there for him registered. But poor lonely Brad hasn’t found anyone who’d take a chance on an ex-con gay guy who had a highly publicized bad breakup. Britt and Brad hang out and talk about their miserable love lives, or lack thereof, and he presses her as to whether she’s had any luck. She rather unenthusiastically says she has a date – sort of, which of course brings more questions from Brad as to what that’s supposed to mean? Britt admits that Society Setups matched her up with the guy that pulled her into the pool with his parachute, and he’s shocked.
Britt takes great pleasure in telling Brad her plan to cool Cowboy Cody’s jets by making their date the worst one in history, and nowhere near a pool. Brad tells Britt her plans for Cody almost sound as bad as her mother’s did for Peter August, (Wes Ramsey) when Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) kidnapped him. Brad tells Britt she must have inherited some of her parents’ sadistic sides after all, and quickly clarifies he’s just kidding.
Britt tells him if she turned into her father’s daughter at Cody and it scared him away from her and preferably out of the state, it would suit her fine. She never wants to see him again and wishes she could get out of this first time but if she doesn’t she can’t scare him off.
Britt and Brad have fun brainstorming ideas to send Cody’s interest in Britt plummeting into infinity. They laugh as they talk about Britt greeting her date with “misery or magic, what will it be?” Britt even considers telling him about her Huntington’s Disease marker and printing out a list of symptoms and outcomes from the General Hospital computers. Maybe that would be enough to send him running far, far away; most men don’t want to get stuck with a partner they might have to be a caretaker for. Britt finally settles on a plan and lays it out step by step, and Brad agrees; if Cody doesn’t run the other way, he’s really got it bad.
