GH News: Nicolas Bechtel Says Adult Actress Bullied Him On Soap Opera

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nicolas Bechtel played the role of Spencer Cassadine on the ABC sudser for many years. His credits include roles in Disney Channel productions. He brought Spencer to life as a lovable know-it-all, one step ahead of the adults and persistently precocious. The young actor garnered legions of fans during his GH stint so his latest tweet about his experience there is disheartening.

General Hospital spoilers – Nicolas Bechtel Was Bullied?

Bechtel joined the cast of GH in 2013 and most recently was not on contract after the character went away to boarding school. The role was recast in 2021 with actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez in the role which is pivotal to the Port Charles, New York teen scene.

Bechtel recently tweeted some eye-opening news about his time on the set and his social media message raises interesting questions about the set at Prospect Studios.

GH spoilers – The Role of Spencer Cassadine Has Been Recast

According to Bechtel while he was still a member of the cast, he was, “bullied by an adult, female co-star.”

He tweeted: “When I was younger I stumbled on a line during rehearsal & the actress opposite of me said ‘hahah, you can’t read.’ I replied ‘you are a grown-up & shouldn’t talk to a kid like that.’ I was forced to apologize but I just want to make it clear that I didn’t mean that apology.”

Bechtel offered up more insight into the situation and how he handled it: “A wise man told me that same day that throughout my life I would come across a lot of difficult people. He explained that it wasn’t about how you respond. It was more about learning how to deal with them. I learned a lot from that wise man.”

The actor did not elaborate who the “bully” was nor identify the wise man name. It sounds like he had a mixed bag of experiences that day, hopefully the positive one is the event that stands out.

Bechtel is still in touch with several former GH castmates including Brooklyn Silzer (Emma Scorpio Drake). He posted a pic of them together to his socials on April 27th, wishing her a happy birthday.

Bechtel’s credits include Disney’s Stuck In The Middle and American Horror Stories.
