GH Comings And Goings: Why Robin Matsson Did Not Return As Heather Webber

General Hospital (GH) comings and goings solves quite a mystery GH fans have been wondering about ever since Heather Webber turned up back on our screens but not played by Robin Mattson.

General Hospital Spoilers – Heather Webber Has A New Face

Since the 1980s, anything GH fans have thought of Heather Webber, they have seen soap vet Robin Mattson’s face. Through the years, Mattson has appeared on other soaps, including as Gina Capwell on Santa Barbara and Janet Dillon on All My Children.

The last major storyline she had on GH was in 2012 when Heather kidnapped Danny Morgan as an infant and Jason Morgan rescued him and gave the baby back to Sam McCall. We last saw her four years later in 2016 when she revealed to Franco Baldwin that Jeff Webber was really Hayden Barnes’ biological dad. Then, she showed up again a few weeks ago looking quite different with Alley Mills (Pam Douglas, The Bold and the Beautiful) in the role.

Heather terrorized a few people, amused the audience, scared the life out of Cameron Webber (William Lipton), and enjoyed her BLT and fries from Kelly’s before being carted back to the asylum but we do expect to see her again. But, where was Mattson? Well, it’s a good thing she had some answers.

GH Spoilers – Robin Mattson’s Health Issues Kept Her Away

It looks like Mattson has been paying attention to all her old soap fans and what they have had to say about the recast and she decided to address the issue and explain why she wasn’t able to make it back to the GH set to play Heather again.

“As nice as is to be missed and so many of you have wondered what happened to me, I just want to let you know that I’ve been recovering from my knee surgery and today I’m going to have hip replacement surgery,” Mattson wrote on her Instagram page. “Thank you all for your love and support! Looking forward to a fast recovery! Love Robin “

Word is Mattson has pretty much retired from acting and is living in Florida. We wish her the best of luck with her surgeries and recovery and still hope to see her in some form on our soap screens again. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see what Heather may do next.
