General Hospital Comings and Goings – Marcus Coloma Fired

After weeks of rumors that Marcus Coloma would no longer be playing Port Charles Dark Prince Nikolas Cassadine, Daytime Confidential finally broke the news, adding that after Coloma was informed he was let go, he refused to take Nikolas’ last scenes.

That leaves fans wondering if Adam Huss, who filled in for Coloma before, would be brought back to finish out Nikolas’s last days this go around, or if someone else would play the role. Many fans are hoping that Tyler Christopher becomes Nikolas again, as the actor did post in an Instagram story that he’d be happy to play the role he created anytime Coloma couldn’t do it.

So far, there is no word on what will happen to Nikolas, if the role will be recast, and who will play Nik if there is indeed a recast.

GH Spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine Has Some Big Story

Coloma began playing Nikolas in 2019 but never caught on with fans the way GH had hoped, with so many still identifying Christopher in the role.

However, it seems someone will have to play Nikolas soon as he is involved with a major storyline with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Nik and Liz are holding pregnant Esme in a tower and pretending that Elizabeth is pregnant with Nik’s child. A story like that is soapy and messy and needs the male lead to play out right, even if that male lead is no longer played by Coloma.

Christopher played Nikolas off and on for the better part of 2016 when he left the soap under vague circumstances soon after winning a Daytime Emmy. Since then, the actor has spoken out about mental health problems that affected his work on both GH and Days of Our Lives as Stefan DiMera.

What will happen to Nikolas now? Will he be called off again, sent into a coma just like his sister Lulu Falconeri (Emme Rylan), end up kidnapped, or recast? Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see what happens to Nikolas next.
