General Hospital Spoilers: What is Deputy Mayor Ashby’s Agenda?

We haven’t seen Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur) for a while. We found out months ago she was embroiled in a plot to take down Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) at the behest of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaugnessy). As Laura has been out of town tending to her mother after a house fire, perhaps the Deputy Mayor has been busy with other duties. Either way, she’s been pulled back into focus now just in time for a potential takedown.

General Hospital Spoilers — The Cassadine Connection

When Laura was elected into office as Mayor of Port Charles, Victor was far from town and presumed dead, but he hadn’t forgotten his interest in taking Laura down. His return to Port Charles was timely, as Laura had recently settled matters with her surprise half-brother Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and sent him off the prison. She was ready for a reprieve from crime and cruelty — at least in her personal life.

GH Spoilers – Indicates Mayor Collins Will Return Soon

With Eileen on the case Laura wasn’t likely to be urged to come back to town. The Deputy Mayor is most certainly encouraging Laura to take her time and assuring her that everything is smooth sailing back home in New York. But now that Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) has discovered Eileen is Victor’s accomplice, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will most certainly let Laura know it’s time to head home.

General Hospital Spoilers — Holly Could Be Back Merely to Distract

Robert is in for a surprise on General Hospital, however, when his beloved Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) returns to Port Charles soon. We can’t be sure yet how this storyline is going to play out. It’s possible Victor has held Holly captive long enough to brainwash her. Holly’s return could be a way for Victor to get inside the minds and ears of Robert, Anna, and Valentin, pretending to be their ally when she is actually working for Victor. We mustn’t forget how keen Victor was on this kind of manipulation when he was using the tarot card to direct Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) every move.

Holly might also be intentionally released from captivity wherever Victor has been detaining her. Her return to Port Charles doesn’t necessarily mean she will have any idea who was holding her hostage all this time and letting her loved ones believe she was dead. Holly’s return would serve as a good distraction for Robert, who Eileen and Victor feel has been getting too close to Anna and Valentin’s mission against Victor. Will the distraction work?
