Even more so, General Hospital spoilers say Nina still has it out for Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), who she feels has been a driving force for Willow’s and Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) decision to remove Nina from her grandson — Wiley Corinthos’ (Viron Weaver) — life. Nina and Carly have a sordid history full of slinging painful punches back and forth at one another, but she could never imagine what Carly is still hiding from everyone, and just how much it’s going to hurt when it comes out.
When Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) was dying, she laid in her hospital bed holding Carly’s hand and confessed to her the last thing Carly ever expected to hear. Harmony was not Willow’s birth mother; Nina was. Nina’s mother gave Willow to her to raise while Nina was oblivious and in a coma. Willow was Nelle Benson-Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) twin sister. This is the kind of news that would dramatically reshape Carly’s family, and in the interest of preserving things the way they are, she’s decided not to tell a soul — not even Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), whom she lied to and told a DNA confirmed it wasn’t true when the opposite is the truth.
Carly has already done this before, and apparently not learned her lesson. Back in the day, Carly introduced herself to Port Charles as Carly Roberts while intruding into her birth mother Bobbie Spencer’s (Jaclyn Zeman) life and seducing her then-stepfather, Tony Jones (Brad Maule). When that charade fell apart, it was a disaster.
Carly also tried her best to pass Michael off as Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) son. She later tried to pass off a child she came to miscarry who was fathered by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) as being A.J. Quartermaine’s (Sean Kanan) baby. More recently, Carly attempted to prevent Nina from ever finding out Nelle was her daughter, and she didn’t until it was too late and Nelle was already dead. Carly’s history with both DNA tests and Nina is sketchy, at best.
Carly may have convinced herself that she’s only keeping this secret as part of a promise she made to Harmony on her deathbed, but Carly would never entertain that explanation if the shoe was on the other foot. Harmony is gone. The people who are still here are who matter. Willow deserves to know her birth mother is alive and longing for a daughter. Nina deserves to know Willow is her child, and that she’s about to be a grandmother again. No one is going to argue in Carly’s favor for having kept that from them when the truth comes out, and in Port Charles, the truth always comes out — in time. Don’t miss a moment of it.
