Perhaps she struck a nerve he didn’t even know he had at the time. At the time, Finn had been struggling to cope with the lack of answers he was getting from Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). Now that she appears to be resorting to the same behavior once again, he’s not sure how he can move forward without some resolution.
Recently, Elizabeth and Finn sat down following an abrupt and surprise meeting with her father, Jeff Webber (William R. Moses). They clearly have a lot to talk about, and just as Finn was starting to open up to her, Elizabeth’s phone began ringing off the hook. Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) was requesting her immediate presence on Spoon Island while Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) allegedly feigned pregnancy pains.
When Elizabeth took the call, that was strike one for Finn. That might’ve been shortsighted since he had just been called away by work as well, and she didn’t fault him for going. However, when Elizabeth decided to run to Nikolas’ aid instead of finishing her very important conversation with Finn, he saw the writing on the wall. If Elizabeth isn’t going to give him the answers he so desperately needs, who will?
Elizabeth really did mean it when she said she wanted to have this conversation, but Finn can see her actions speak louder than her words. If Elizabeth was placing their relationship at the top of her list, then only her boys should come before Finn — and he confirmed she wasn’t running off to tend to them. So what might have Elizabeth so preoccupied that she can’t make time for Finn as their relationship crumbles before both their eyes? She can’t tell him.
Finn won’t be getting any clear answers out of Elizabeth anytime soon, and she’s about to find herself embroiled in an even bigger mess with Nikolas and Esme that takes up her free time away from the hospital. So Finn will step out on a limb and go to the one person he thinks can help him understand what might have really gone down with Reiko Finn’s (Mele Ihara) death — and whether Jeff might’ve been more responsible than he’s letting Elizabeth believe. When Finn heads to D’Archem to visit Heather, he’s not going to tell a soul, but that doesn’t mean word won’t travel fast back to Elizabeth and some other concerned parties.
