General Hospital Dropped Storylines: What Happened To Holly?

General Hospital Spoilers – Will Anyone Learn The Truth About Holly Sutton?

It was 2020 when Robert (Tristan Rogers) learned that his beloved Holly died, but then later found out she was alive and in trouble. He then enlisted the help of Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) to find her. That took the pair on an adventure to Monte Carlo where Robert eventually learned Holly had perished. Even her son with Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) was there to mourn her.

But soon after Robert gave up on her, fans saw that Holly was indeed still breathing but being held captive somewhere. That was nearly two years ago and GH fans have yet to learn where Holly is as Robert still believes she is dead and buried. Will this story ever be resolved?

GH Spoilers -Why Did Holly Sutton Not Return?

Fans did see actress Emma Samms as a captive Holly trying to get out of a room she was being held in but it turned out the scenes were filmed in Samms’ home in England as the actress is suffering from Long Covid and couldn’t make the trek back to the United States to film scenes.

Samms has been very open about the hard time she had when she contracted COVID at the start of the pandemic and the lasting effects it has had on her everyday life.

“The fatigue that comes with Long COVID is not regular fatigue, it’s not where I feel a bit sleepy,” Samms told People in 2021. “It’s the kind that you might imagine marathon runners feeling when you see them staggering over a finish line and they can barely stand up. Some days I don’t want to get out of bed even if I have to go to the bathroom. Even that feels like too much effort”

However, with international travel more open between the United States and other countries, will she be able to one day return to the GH set and resolve Holly’s story? Even if GH can’t get Samms to return, it would still make sense at this point to bring this story back considering how long it has been since it was first addressed.
