Ellen DeGeneres Reveals Close Bond with Adam Levine

Ellen DeGeneres revealed that Adam Levine was the reason why she ended up with Portia De Rossi.

For over 19 seasons, The Ellen Show has aired more than 3,200 episodes since it premiered on the small screens last September 2003. As one of the most beloved shows on television, it gained 64 Daytime Emmy Awards, and just last May 2021, host Ellen DeGeneres made the 19th Season the final season when she announced she would be ending her show, which is set to air this coming May 26 on NBC.

As one of her guests on its final season, Adam Levine recently stepped foot on the show and reminisced about their sweet moments together, especially when the Maroon 5 vocalist gave DeGeneres the cardigan he wore during his second appearance on the show. The host admitted that she and her wife, Portia De Rossi, still wear the clothing up to this day.

When Adam Levine handed Ellen DeGeneres the cardigan he wore, the host paid him back by naming his firstborn, Dusty Rose, whom he shared with his wife, Behati Prinsloo. The 43-year-old singer shared that his wife was not convinced with the suggested name at first, but eventually agreed with the idea.

On the other hand, Levine opened up about why the Emmy Awardee host met her wife, Portia De Rossi. “Although I also… and we won’t go into detail because it’s private stuff, I’m technically the reason why you met Portia,” Levine stated. DeGeneres immediately agreed, “Well, not why I met her, but why we’re together. The reason we’re together… we’re together because of Adam.”

During his appearance on “The Ellen Show,” Adam Levine played a game named “Truth or Shot,” where he has to answer some questions and take a shot if he chose to be quiet about it. When asked about the embarrassing thing he has done to someone famous, the audience laughed when the band vocalist chose to take a shot.

Levine also revealed that he wished he has written the song “God Only Knows” by Beach Boys, and he hailed it as “the best song ever.” When DeGeneres asked him, “When was the last time you lied to your kids and what did you lie about?” The father-of-three immediately responded, “Oh, I lie to my kids all the time. My favorite things are the ones that they’re gonna eventually know aren’t true, like they think I am the strongest man in the world.”
