EastEnders spoilers, news, and updates tease what happens next after Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) leaves Walford. How will his departure affect Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie)?
EastEnders – Phil Mitchell Leaves Walford
In the previous episode, it was revealed that Phil had had enough of the trouble that was going on in his life. He finally makes a decision to leave Walford to get away from it all.
In last week’s episode, Phil faced a lot of threats and blackmail. For starters, Shirley Carter threatened to tell everyone that he was DCI Samantha Keeble’s (Alison Newman) informant unless he let her have Peggy’s Nightclub. Phil refused her offer and said he was only doing all these things to protect his family.
Next, his rival Jonah Tyler (Mark Mooney) and his gang are out to get Phil after he cuts off the drug supply to the club. Jonah crashed Peggy’s, determined to take down everyone. He managed to escape along with his thugs, but Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) got hurt in the chaos.
Keeble was also breathing down his neck, and Phil felt that he was backed into a corner. He can’t take the pressure anymore so he decides to leave Walford. Kat and Alfie saw Phil drive past the Vic to make a phone call.
EastEnders – Alfie Moon Woos Kat Slater
Alfie wants Kat back, and he’ll do everything he can to do just that, especially now that Phil is gone. Freddie Slater (Kevin Coughlin) also pushes Alfie to woo Kat. He gets an idea of how to win her over through a grand gesture. Freddie helps him arrange a huge flower display for Kat, but she won’t appreciate it after she learns how he got the decorations.
Kat is also not in the mood to entertain Alfie’s romantic gestures after she gets a surprise visit from DCI Keeble. After the conversation, Kat warns Shirley to keep quiet about Phil, but the latter also warns her that she shouldn’t get on Kibble’s bad side.
Kat may have dismissed Alfie’s efforts at first, but she’ll change her mind after learning that the mystery person whom Phil called was Sharon. She’s upset that Phil turned to Sharon instead of her, so she decides to go for a drink with Alfie at the Vic. They have a good time until a woman walks up to Alfie to remind him about his upcoming marriage.
Will Kat still offer Phil her support, or will she grass on him because he turned to Sharon for help instead of her?
