Duggar Family News: Joy-Anna Duggar Gets Hate For Homeschooling Children

Duggar family news reveals that fans of the TLC show, Counting On, have been giving Joy-Anna Duggar a lot of backlash for how she homeschools her son, Gideon, who is four years old. What do they do during school hours? From the looks of it, he watches a lot of television.

Duggar Family – The Homeschooling Issues

In a recent photo, Joy-Anna shared on Instagram a day of school with her son, just laying on the bed and watching TV. The caption read, “Watching Preschool Prep for ‘school’ today. Gideon starts pre-k4 in a few weeks!” Of course, Reddit users were quick to share the post and share their thoughts on her teaching techniques.

One Reddit user wrote, “Nothing summarizes why people look down on homeschooling more than homeschool parents who just park their kids in front of the TV and call it education.” There were also fans of the show that wrote about how they hoped he was going to school with real, qualified teachers and not being homeschooled by Joy-Anna.

The Duggars – And Homeschooling

Michelle Duggar homeschooled all of her children and many of their fans saw some big issues with that. When we watched the all on the show, many of them didn’t seem to know some of the basics of education, while others seemed too smart to be homeschooled. Fans have always questioned these tactics from their parents and many of the fans are glad that the children are sending their kids to public school.

Joy-Anna may be homeschooling Gideon, but she could also be sending him to public preschool. She hasn’t made this clear yet, but from the looks of it, he’s not getting a lot done by sitting in front of the television. Yes, there are educational shows these days, but children still need to learn more than just what is on the show.
