It is teased that Paulina’s loved ones try to help her. However, Paulina and Lani will both struggle with keeping their story straight. Lani will also be dealing with intense guilt over killing her own father. Paulina and Lani both continue lying, even to Abe and Eli.

Once Abe learns this piece of information from Steve, he might question Paulina. If Paulina sticks to her story, Abe might turn to Eli and Lani for answers. Will Paulina and Lani finally confess what really happened? It’s true that the shooting saved Paulina’s life. It would probably be considered self-defense.

The problem in this situation is that Lani is a police detective and certain procedures should have been followed. Lani likely won’t go to prison but could lose her career. In any case, this lie will cause more problems for both Paulina and Lani than if they just would have told the truth from the beginning.
