Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) never should have told anyone a fake name of a fake company he was working for because it wasn’t fake at all and now Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) have figured out that Bonnie was right all along — Xander is indeed the clown who kept her hostage.

When Gwen Rizcech (Emily O’Brien) learns that Justin and Bonnie know, she decides to meet with Xander and warn him about what is going on. She also tells him she is not about to go back to prison for helping him with this criminal activity. Too bad that Xander didn’t look to see if he was being followed when he heads to his meeting with Gwen.

It’s Xander’s wife, Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey), who followed him and she hears everything. Xander had just convinced her to go on a trip to Greece with him and now the truth is out. He really thought he could just get out of town and let this whole thing blow over while making Sarah happy, as well.

When Sarah confronts Xander on what she knows and what he did, the worst part of it for her is that she suspected things and gave him countless times to just tell her the truth himself but he kept lying. Now, she might not be able to forgive him.

“Instead of being the person that Sarah needs him to be, which is this loving, honest, caring man, he has this idea of what he needs to be, which is a solid businessman with all this money coming in, a house, and responsibility,” Paul Telfer said in the January 9, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “There’s nowhere for Xander to hide, emotionally, from what he’s done to himself.”
