Since her high school years, all crazy Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) has wanted is Shawn Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer), but he had no interest in her whatsoever. As Jan has been absolutely relentless in her pursuit of Shawn through the years, she’s put many lives in danger, but now she has a new little life to take care of — a son that she and Shawn share, and things are turning out better than she ever expected.

Shawn has been extra close and caring with her as he is not about to let anything happen to the mother of his new baby, but in the back of her mind, she knows she is set to end up back in jail and away from her son — unless Shawn can pull some strings and do something about that little problem.

When Jan learns that Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) has essentially moved out and turned to EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel) for comfort, she feels it’s finally her chance to get the man she loves.

“She had hoped she’d move in and this would be the result, that it would drive Shawn and Belle apart naturally,” Heather Lindell said in the July 5, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “With everything that Shawn’s been doing — he’s been feeding Jan, he’s been protecting her –– Jan feels like Shawn cares for her and her baby.”

To Jan, that means they will ultimately end up together and that’s all she really ever wanted anyway. But, Salem, Shawn, and Belle better watch out if Jan doesn’t get her way. She is a very mentally unstable woman, which they have now known for decades.

She was even willing to go along with Satan to get what she wanted, so there is no telling what she will do if Shawn seems to waver. Belle, Shawn, and possibly that little baby can end up in a whole lot of danger. Perhaps Shawn has yet to think this new life he is entering through.
