Days of Our Lives Spoilers – The Case For The Status Quo

Was there anything really wrong with Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) being Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) long-lost daughter from a relationship we all remember him having years ago? This had been established for five years before it was taken away and we enjoyed watching Abe and Lani bond and feel like a real father and daughter pair. It’s how we grew to know her and like her and how she was connected to the Salem canvas to start with.

She developed a relationship with her brother, Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) after they found they had a lot in common and, to many fans, Lani was a member of the Carver clan and that was that. There was no reason to change Lani’s entire back story. But maybe there was. Maybe it makes thighs more interesting, which brings us to…

DOOL Spoilers – The Case For Changing Things Up For Lani Price

We guess the possibility that Lani was never really Abe’s was out there since she first arrived in town in 2015 claiming Abe was her dad. Abe just took her word for it and nobody even bothered doing a paternity test. After all, Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) was always so honest. Why would she lie about a thing like this — especially to her daughter. Tamara even arrived in town for a brief visit and gave no indication that she was living a lie.

Perhaps it’s good to have Lani’s mother on the show, even if that mother isn’t Tamara. It offers more story for Lani and the fact that she and Abe are still close proves that parenting and fatherhood aren’t just all about blood.

Now, we get to see Lani forge new relationships with characters and how she deals with the fact that she didn’t really know who she was or where she came from her entire life — and maybe she even has more family out there she didn’t know about.
