Chrisley Knows Best fans reeled when they heard the verdict of the court in Todd and Julie Chrisley’s tax and fraud trial. As they beat the previous investigation in Georgia, a lot of people assumed they were innocent when it came to the federal charges. It took three weeks for the evidence and other related procedures to conclude. Unlike Josh Duggar, the former TLC star, the jury didn’t take a very long time to come up with their guilty verdict. In just two days, the news arrived that they were found guilty of telling lies about their income to obtain a loan. Later, they filed for bankruptcy, thus allowing the to write off $20 million in debt. Apart from conspiracy to defraud the government, Julie was also found guilty of wire fraud.

Chrisley Knows Best fans were angry when they heard that the couple could serve longer than Josh Duggar in federal prison. Bear in mind, that Josh’s crime involved the abuse of children. However, it’s too early to know if they get the maximum that the courts can give. In fact, they fully intend to appeal, and a lot of things can change between now and the sentencing date.

The actual date is set for October 6, 2022. However, that isn’t carved stone given that their legal team will file for an appeal. According to Monsters and Critics, “The sentencing date is subject to change based on what the Chrisleys’ attorney files regarding appeals…since the date is roughly four months away.” In the meantime, the family still works on proving their innocence.

Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah mentioned that some of the witnesses were a bit shady, and in fact, Mark Braddock, who claimed that he and Todd were gay lovers, was granted immunity from prosecution. Well, for fans of the TV show, that raises some red flags. So, many of them will continue to pray that Todd and Julie are granted their appeal.
