Chris Van Etten Is Stepping Away From His Role As Chet Driscoll On General Hospital

While viewers were excited about his pairing with Cassandra James’ Dr. Terry Randolph the show had to put a halt on that relationship due to some changes in the actor’s personal life. In fact, Etten and his family have relocated from Los Angeles hence the reason for his abrupt exit.

With news of his exit circulating on the internet, Etten had this to say, “Couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has been on this journey with me. I’m taking this downtime to focus on family, but who knows what the future will bring.” His post which was shared on Instagram included a comment by James who said, “You will be missed Chris. It was a complete joy to work with you.”

General Hospital Spoilers – His Debut

On November 8, 2017, Etten made his debut on the ABC daytime soap opera as Chet, the brother of nosy nurse Amy Driscoll as played by Risa Dorken. He has made several appearances on the show but it was of late that his character was actually getting some good material which now comes to halt as his character will move to Chicago. Chet and Terry were finally ready for romance. While it was in the early stages, we as viewers were very invested as to what was ahead for the two characters individually and as a couple. Luckily for us, Etten gave us hope with his latest Instagram post which is goodbye to his time on the show. However, his post included a brief encouragement to hold out hope that he may be back on the show in the future.

Etten is married to Samantha. They have two children. He is well known for his amazing story as a real-life wounded marine and a double leg amputee. He is also known as a motivational speaker and model who shares the same name with the show’s co-head writer, Chris Van Etten. Likewise, his character on screen lost his legs in the war.
