Blake Shelton will ‘step away’ after season 23 of The Voice
After being with the singing competition since its inception in 2011, Blake Shelton has decided it is time to call it quits after season 23. He said in a statement on his Instagram that he has been wrestling with this for a while. However, Shelton has decided it is time for him to step away from The Voice after the upcoming season 23.
Moreover, Blake explained how the show has changed his life in every way, but for the better and it will always feel like home for him. He said:
It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best.
Shelton also explained that it takes a lot of “work, passion, and adult beverages” to pull off a live show twice a week. He said he has made lifelong bonds with Carson and all the other fellow coaches over the years. This, of course, includes his lovely wife, Gwen Stefani.
‘Huge shout out to the singers’
Blake said he has to give a “huge shout out” to the singers, the ‘Voices’ that came on stage season after season. He explained how they amazed them with their talent and particularly thanked those who chose him to be their coach.
Shelton ended his statement, saying:
Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at The Voice chasing their dreams. It wouldn’t happen without you!

However, Green left the show after season 5 and Aguilera after season 10. Meanwhile, Levine stuck with the NBC show until season 16, leaving in 2019.
In fact, Blake has coached each season of The Voice from the beginning and eight of his singers won the grand prize.
