Hope and Liam had Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) in a highly dramatic storyline. Thomas gained knowledge of Reese Buckingham’s (Wayne Brady) horrific kidnapping and baby-sale. Atkinson’s character chose to manipulate that information rather than immediately telling Hope.

Viewers are again being asked to suspend disbelief, as Hope has rationalized trusting Thomas. Of course, the Beth Is Alive storyline was just one of many mind games.

Thomas believes he loves Hope. Liam, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and others are certain that Thomas is obsessed with Hope.

Has Thomas improved, or did he suppress the dark thoughts that pervaded his life in the recent past? The shocking reappearance of the Hope mannequin appears to be evidence that Thomas never regained stability.

Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and, to a degree, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) seem unable to recognize their son’s struggles as more than bad choices. Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is the clear-thinker in that family and can stop her brother if necessary.

Hope would only have to let her guard down once where Thomas is concerned. She is deeply vulnerable, believing Liam is not supporting her career or personal judgment concerning Thomas and Douglas.

TPTB have demonstrated that they will go where the audience may not expect through the years. Writing Hope into being the mother of Thomas’ next child would become instantly buzzworthy.

Thomas has a son. The idea of Hope giving birth to his daughter is not far-fetched on B&B.
