Viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful can tell that compassionate Taylor has gotten way too close to Sheila through their mutual grief; Taylor, too has lost a child and she feels for Sheila. Longtime viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful will recall that Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline Macinnes Wood) fraternal twin Phoebe Forrester (Mackenzie Mauzy) died in a terrible car crash, and she was thrown from the car and died in Ridge’s arms. Of course, Taylor has no idea that it was Sheila who fired the fatal shot that killed her own son, Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and attempted to kill Taylor’s daughter Steffy! All Taylor saw was a grieving mother who’d barely gotten to know her grown, adopted-out son before he died, and she was ready to end her life! Taylor, indeed, has lost her objectivity where Sheila is concerned and that is why she is advocating for her changed nature!
Viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful can tell that Taylor can no longer see Sheila for what and who she is, because she cannot see past Sheila’s grief. Sheila’s remorse and grief for killing her own son accidentally is no act, it is very real, or she would not have been shown wailing for him alone in her hotel room! However, as viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful know, Sheila had a disconnect between how she would wound Finn emotionally by killing Steffy, his wife, lacking the ability to put herself in his shoes! But with Taylor – she seems to be able to relate to her and to empathize, and that is what is throwing Taylor off about Sheila; sociopaths, and especially narcissistic sociopaths, cannot feel for others and she can tell that Sheila has that ability. Taylor can feel that Sheila is compassionate towards her and that she cares – they actually hugged and cried on each other’s’ shoulders in the hospital waiting room!
Viewers of The Bold and The Beautiful know that Ridge isn’t buying Sheila’s compassion, although he hasn’t blasted her about it; in a recent episode of The Bold and The Beautiful even Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) didn’t fault Sheila for being at the hospital. It was rather amazing that the sometimes hateful and judgmental Brooke had compassion for Sheila’s grief and understood her being there – but when Taylor reports Sheila has changed, Ridge will be shocked! Ridge will be worried that Taylor is being fooled by Sheila, and that Sheila’s compassion and grief is all an act to hide her next sinister plot; but Taylor explains her opinions; would Sheila have come one step away from suicide if she was putting on an act? Not even Sheila would be ready to jump off a roof of a twenty plus story building to show off, she didn’t lure Taylor up there to put on an act!
