B&B spoilers reveal that when Steffy woke up, it was immediately clear that she didn’t remember the shooting. Then, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) went to visit Steffy. Even though Steffy was awake and aware of their visit, she pretended to be asleep.
As “Lope” was walking out the door, Steffy opened her eyes. Although it’s not clear what Steffy was thinking, there was pain in her eyes. Whether that pain is because she saw Liam’s closeness to Hope, or it was a reminder of what she lost was uncertain.
This week, Steffy gets emotional with Liam and caresses his cheek. Steffy stuns both Liam and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) with a statement. Steffy gushes about her “sweet, sweet husband.” However, does Steffy really have amnesia or could she be faking? Pretending to have amnesia might not be totally crazy.
When Steffy first woke up, she looked right at Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and panicked. If Steffy is faking her amnesia, she could be terrified of what could happen if Sheila finds out she remembers everything. Steffy is a strong woman, but she never expected Sheila to kill John “Finn” Finnegan (formerly played by Tanner Novlan).
Steffy might not just be concerned about her own life, though. Steffy could be concerned that if Sheila knows there is no way out, other people could be killed. Steffy wouldn’t want Ridge, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), or Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) to die because of her.
Trauma can take a powerhouse of a person and leave them feeling paralyzed or reacting in unusual ways. So, this wouldn’t be that far-fetched.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that Steffy was completely in love with Finn. Suddenly losing Finn might have Steffy refusing to believe it’s true. To protect herself mentally, Steffy might be trying to pretend that Finn never existed.
It sounds far-fetched, but there are cases of people going through denial so extreme that they pretend the deceased never existed.
Another reason Steffy could be pretending to have amnesia is blame. Of course, everyone knows that Sheila is the person to blame for all of this. However, Steffy might hate the fact that she’s lost her Prince Charming while Hope still has Liam.
Not thinking clearly because of her trauma and grief, perhaps Steffy can’t stand to see her rival be happy. After all, Steffy might reason that if Liam and Hope never got together, then she wouldn’t be dealing with this grief to begin with.
It sounds like a real stretch, but grieving people tend to look for someone to blame. Sometimes, the blame is misplaced and doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Another point that fans should think about is why Steffy pretended to be asleep the first time Liam walked into the room. Why not open her eyes and gush about her sweet husband in front of Hope? That doesn’t make much sense, which further indicates the amnesia story might not be completely true.
