Sheila is okay with Brooke’s world collapsing. She could care less about giving alcohol to a woman who has fiercely battled alcohol addiction for years and has been sober for an extended period.

Brooke does not deserve to be Sheila’s victim. While her comments were overly harsh and unwise, when telling Sheila that she would not maintain her connection with John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), the reaction that followed was diabolical and cowardly.

At least Brooke told Sheila what she intended to do face-to-face. Sheila responded by working behind Brooke’s back, employing a typical and masterful Sheilaesque scheme that led to mayhem.

Poor Deacon. Yes, he made a mistake by drinking with Brooke. But it was his inebriated state that led to them kissing.

Deacon’s choice to make sure Brooke was okay during the overnight hours was based on his love for her. But he did not cross any line during those extended hours, which arguably demonstrates his maturity.

He demonstrated sincerity when taking a cleanup job at Il Giordino and by living in the maintenance closet at that location. But the fight with Ridge busts that progress wide open.

Hope is a sweet soul who cares about people. It is understood that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) disagrees with that subjective assessment, as do those who do not care for Noelle’s character.

She has been her mom’s champion since learning about the sobriety break. Hope must now become Deacon’s support system as well. Hopefully, she learns about his ongoing connection with Sheila and ends what certainly is not a friendship before either of her parents suffer more pain or worse.
