Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) knows that Ridge is the greatest love of her life. She also knows that Brooke was and remains his soul mate.

But Ridge appears to have reached an impasse in his love life. Taylor anticipated that Brooke would create a gap. So, Allen’s character waited for an opportunity to arise since returning from Africa.

Ridge sees his two-time former wife as a comfortable alternative. Yes, he and Taylor have split twice before. But her devotion to him is undeniable, and he needs that support right now based on the return of Brooke’s drama.

Only the death of a soap opera character can end a love story. Of course, an actor can return as their original character’s twin or a different persona. Love can be pursued with the grieving mate.

There is no current information that projects Brooke or Ridge to join Stephanie in heaven. B&B needs both legacy characters to remain on the show forever. And it is understood that considering Brooke and Ridge’s love story as great is a subjective opinion.

Soap fans are savvy. They know that Brooke and Ridge will likely reunite someday. As of now, even if the truth about Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) sabotage is soon revealed, Ridge seems likely to grow closer to Taylor.

But there is enough space for him to return to Brooke. That may be why he has not closed off all roads back to her.
