Carter likes Paris. But the way he talks about her reflects the mind of someone who is settling.

But just as Carter has decided to pursue a committed relationship with Paris, Quinn is set to realize that her marriage is a sham. She will surely relay that knowledge to Carter, who has become her most trusted confidant.

By that point in the anticipated plot, Carter will surely not reject the woman who he sees as his true love. Grace is on track to have her fears for Paris proven true.
