Steffy’s parents, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) will soon find out that their daughter has checked into a mental health facility overseas. Steffy has not been able to get the horrible events of the night she thinks her husband was killed by his birth mother out of her mind, nor her own trauma. She continues to have nightmares of the gun going off and downing Finn, and Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) not allowing her to call 911.
Steffy also is haunted that she was unable to save her husband, and remembers the bullet tearing into her own flesh and the burning she felt as it went in. Going on a trip to Europe with her two children has failed to bring Steffy any closure, or brought her any closer to healing.
In the meanwhile, back in Los Angeles, Finn is living a nightmare now, being confined to a bed in a makeshift hospital room and only having Sheila caring for him. Sheila, a nurse, has not been a practicing nurse for over twenty years and he keeps begging her to call an ambulance and get him to a real hospital.
She continues to refuse, and she even showed him his own death certificate, although he didn’t get to look at it thoroughly and failed to see who signed it. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) had signed it herself noting the time of death, and now he finds out she is dead; he believes Sheila killed her. He doesn’t know what to believe about Steffy and their children but knows he has to get to her if she’s alive to let her know he’s not really dead!
Finn and Steffy will find each other and reunite in Monaco, in the next couple of weeks, and Taylor and Ridge will be there. A leaked clip from a few weeks ago shows Taylor and Ridge meeting Finn and an unidentified woman on a sidewalk in a park. But with everything they have each gone through, will love alone be enough to heal them fully – and will Sheila cause more trauma before then?
Sheila promises Finn to take him to Steffy and the children, but how exactly does she propose to do so when she doesn’t know where exactly they are? It makes more sense that Taylor with her professional connections and Finn, with his as a doctor find where Steffy’s being treated in Monaco with Ridge along as well.
No one would be surprised if both Finn and Steffy suffer from the trauma they each endured at Sheila’s hand; it is very easy to imagine that they’ll both need treatment. They could easily imagine Sheila around every corner with a gun pointed at them, even if she is caught and brought to justice. Every little rustle of a leaf, every little sound or the backfiring of a car will put them in fear. Every night they may have nightmares and flashbacks to the trauma of the night they were shot; it’s a good thing Taylor is a world-renowned psychiatrist, they’re going to need her!
