By not telling Liam, Hope relinquished control of the narrative. If all is eventually revealed accidentally, as can be the case in daytime, Hope will have to explain her decision from a position of weakness.

Hope will look guilty for not having told Liam the truth. Clifton’s character will likely feel betrayed. But he may be outraged if he concludes that Hope kept what happened to him on purpose.

Liam could conclude that Hope was covering feelings she developed for Thomas.

Hope spoke very directly to Thomas. She told him that Liam was her husband and the man she loved.

Thomas also heard that there was no room in Hope’s life for any other man but Liam. He was genuinely embarrassed, demonstrated remorse, and wanted to keep their stronger friendship intact.

But Thomas has often changed course. He appears unable or unwilling to consider how his actions affect others. So, no one can rule out him ensuring that Liam learns what happened between Hope and Thomas.

Creating an intentional leak would be purposeful. Tension would spark between Liam and Hope. Liam would be the one man she could not talk to about that particular problem, with Thomas becoming the one she would turn to on B&B.
