Deacon reminds an irrational Sheila that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline Macinnes Wood) is getting her memories back, and grieving the loss of her husband. He reminds Sheila that even though Steffy had recently sympathized and empathized with her as a grieving mother, that doesn’t mean acceptance. It certainly doesn’t mean permission to drop by and spend time with Hayes any time she wants, and Steffy could lash out!
Steffy has regained enough memory to remember her late husband John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and that Sheila was his birth mother. That is why she was able to recognize that Sheila also was in grief, but she also told Sheila that didn’t mean they were friends.
Deacon may not have been in Steffy’s hospital room at the time to witness the interaction, but he didn’t have to be. Deacon knows from Sheila and Steffy’s past history that Steffy wouldn’t want Sheila there in her home, especially if she were alone there with the children! Deacon should know – he was there in Los Angeles long enough before to have known the history of Sheila shooting Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) in front of her children! That isn’t a memory that Steffy and her brother easily forgot, especially when they thought Taylor had died, she was missing for years! Deacon tells Sheila she doesn’t want to give Steffy those kinds of memory flashbacks when she seems so close to acceptance!
Deacon will keep trying to convince Sheila that she could lose all the ground she’s apparently gained with the Forresters by forcing a visit with Hayes. He understands her grandson is all she has left of her son, and Steffy is going through the same types of feelings. Sheila is being very irrational and says of all people Steffy knows what she is going through and won’t mind a friendly visit.
She didn’t mind that much when she was there in the hospital visiting her in her room, out of concern for her. Deacon still says Sheila needs to keep her distance – she can show her continued concerns by texts or phone calls.
Sheila is acting obsessive again, and Deacon can tell – and this is when Sheila always gets herself into trouble! It’s like she gets into her own little world with her own little view of what is going on around her, but she can’t see what’s real! She can only see things the way she thinks they are, not the way they really are! Deacon warns her that this type of attitude always gets her into trouble – but as usual, Sheila will ignore his warnings and do as she darn well pleases! Deacon knows this will only lead to trouble not only for Steffy, but for Sheila herself!
