Deacon and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), who was also duped by Sheila, believe that she killed John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). They know Sheila shot Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), the intended, first target. But they do not know what happened to Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) yet.
So, Taylor’s arrival at Il Giardino felt like a message. Were TPTB establishing the start of a connection between her and Deacon that goes beyond finding Sheila?
Taylor was trying to help Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) realize that Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) is not someone he can trust. He felt bad telling Taylor about moving back to the mansion, but wanted to be upfront.
Ridge and Brooke are one of B&B’s all-time super couples. Their love story is all that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) said it is. Brooke can take pride in her son-in-law’s description of that enduring connection.
Taylor’s assessment of Brooke is skewed by the ongoing desire to reunite with Ridge. Her love for him naturally makes Brooke an eternal rival.
Deacon has worked very hard to live right since being released from prison. He, along with Brooke, were basically cleared of wrong-doing after Sheila voluntarily revealed her champagne label switch to Ridge, Taylor, and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in the recent past.
Ridge knows Deacon did not orchestrate Brooke’s sobriety break. But that does not prevent him from continuing to distrust the father of Brooke’s daughter, Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle).
A significant portion of Ridge’s feelings about Deacon are based on Brooke’s decades-old attraction to Kanan’s character. Hope reflects the reality that Deacon was someone who Brooke was drawn to and still remains fond of, though she does not love him.
Taylor’s first order of business is locating the woman who wrecked her daughter’s family. Sheila is on the loose, though Allen’s character does not know that she is with Finn and can not leave him due to the fragile state he is in. Deacon can not help Taylor, as Sheila was not in touch with him to that point in the plot.
Viewers know that Finn’s recent awakening and awareness of his predicament will eventually lead to him escaping Sheila’s grip. He, Steffy, and the children will reunite, and that will warm Taylor’s heart.
Taylor will not be with Ridge when the above happens. As implausible as it seems, pairing Taylor with Deacon is not outlandish. Plus, doing so would drive Ridge wild. That element would be in Taylor’s mind as well.
