Find out about Anna’s recent public appearance. And get the latest on Josh Duggar’s biggest scandal yet. Plus: Why did Josh delay his sentencing trial? Get the answer below!
Josh Duggar, 34, received a guilty verdict of possessing and receiving child pornography on December 9. And in the wake of that trial, Josh has remained in jail as he awaits his sentencing verdict. That left his wife Anna Duggar caring for their kids and trying to survive the unknown.
But when one of the “19 Kids And Counting” alum’s friends gave a party, Anna decided to attend. And she looked happier than ever at the bash, reported the Sun. Apparently not worried about who might catch her joy, Anna even snapped a selfie with two pals.
Josh’s wife looked perky and pretty in a pink frock, with her hair perfectly styled in cascading curls. But commentators didn’t exactly praise Anna. For instance, one wrote, “Can you believe that Anna just goes to these events casually with her and everyone knowing that her husband is currently in jail for being a pedophile and everyone just acts like everything is normal?”
“Counting On” fans are counting down the days until Josh Duggar enters the courtroom for his sentencing trial. And though his wife Anna Duggar did enjoy a brief respite at that party, she just might join fans in pondering all the possible outcomes. But due to Josh’s request, the sentencing trial recently got delayed for approximately eight weeks, reported In Touch.
At first, Josh’s sentencing hearing for two counts of possessing and receiving child pornography was scheduled for April 5, 2022. But then the “19 Kids And Counting” alum and his lawyers filed a motion to hold off. In the court papers, Josh requested time to “pursue additional information and documentation.” And his lawyers also pointed to the COVID pandemic as a reason.
Because the prison where Josh resides has established COVID rules, he feels that it became increasingly challenging to schedule meetings with his defense team. However, the documents did not fault the prison, citing “certain reasonable COVID-19 precautions understandably instituted at the jail.” And rather than get blamed for trying to endlessly throw up road blocks in the sentencing, the paperwork also emphasized that the request was “not intended to unnecessarily delay or hinder the proceedings.” Instead, the delay would “allow Duggar sufficient time to acquire all relevant information which will be necessary for fully briefing Section 3553 argument, to confer with his counsel and to alleviate certain scheduling issues arising out of unrelated cases.”
