Amy Duggar Breaks Off From the Duggar Family As She Seeks to Surround Herself With “Healthy Individuals”

Amy is finally breaking free from the Duggar family hold – from their toxic masculinity, their religious chokehold, to their controlling theatrics. She’s basically done and dusted.

The Duggar family is known for many things, including defending a rapist and raising female kids who think their sole purpose is breeding. You can find very little to praise the Duggar family for, and even less to praise Amy’s uncle Jim Bob for.

Fathering 19 kids from one woman, he’s made a name for himself and a living for his family by having everyone of them star in the family’s reality TV show, “Counting On”, formerly “19 Kids and Counting”.

Recently, it emerged that he barely pays his kids, most especially the females, for their time filming the show. But that’s not what Amy is ranting about.

Amy’s rebelliousness started when her cousin Josh Duggar faced child pornography charges. The reality TV star was very outspoken about how gross and sick Josh’s action were and encouraged authorities to lock him up.

Yes, we know Amy has never been one to follow Jim Bob’s nonsensical ethics as willingly as the rest of them, but she’s been more outspoken following the news of Josh’s charges.

It didn’t end with the criticisms, Amy has now actively cut ties with the problematic family and she’s far from being sorry.

To share the news of her well-earned freedom to fans, she shared a meme which read: “Them: You can’t just block your family members and stop talking to them.”

The “Me:” part was a video of Usher saying, “Watch this” and dancing happily. This means that Amy is overjoyed to finally cut certain members of her family off.

“You have to surround yourself with people and especially family who are healthy individuals,” she wrote underneath the meme. “Who are healthy example to your children, who will protect them.”

In case it’s still vague regarding who she’s talking about, she added: “It’s ok to have huge boundaries if they can’t be trusted. Especially those who hide behind religion.”
