90-Day Fiancé: Why Did Pedro and Chantel Jimeno Split?

90 Day Fiancé spoilers and updates tease that Pedro and Chantel Jimeno have filed for divorce. Now, fans are wanting to know the reason behind their split.

Pedro and Chantel made their debut on the show in season 4 and tied the knot on March 25, 2016. The 90-Day Fiancé alums have been together for six years. Fans have seen them go through both good and tough times.

During their time together, Pedro and Chantel’s families have been at odds. Their feud has been well documented in 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After seasons 2,3 and 4. Now, they’ve recently decided to go separate ways.

Pedro’s Reason For Divorcing Chantel

On May 27, Pedro filed for divorce. According to the documents obtained by In Touch, Pedro cited that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” as the reason why he’s filing for divorce. He also asked for all debts that they had during their marriage to go under equitable division. He also asked for all their marital property to be subject to equitable division, as well.

He also noted that Chantel took out more than $257,000 from their joint business account. He alleged that she transferred their money to her personal account and the account of her sister, Winter Everett.

Pedro’s Request To The Court

Pedro said that he tried to settle things with Chantel amicably but it didn’t work out accordingly. He’s asking the court to order Chantel to transfer back the money into a joint checking account that they can both access. He also asked that the funds only be used for essential household expenses until such time that equitable division is rendered by the court.

He also asked the court to order Chantel to provide a detailed account of all the money she spent from April 23, 2022, when she transferred the cash out of their joint business account, until the present.

Pedro also alleged that Chantel knew that he was dependent on the funds on their joint account and that she took the money out of spite so that he’ll have no source of funds for his living expenses.

A mutual restraining order is currently in place for both Pedro and Chantel while their divorce case is ongoing.

Chantel’s Counter Claims

As for Chantel, she’s filing for divorce on the grounds of “adultery” and “cruel treatment.” She also cited “mental pain” and “physical domestic violence.” Just like Pedro, she stated that their “marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
