90 Day Fiancé Star Usman Drops Bombshell On Kim Over Adopting A Child

90 Day Fiancé star Kimberly Menzies is concerned over her relationship with Usman Umar. This is particularly so when she found out that Umar couldn’t have a second wife in the US, as that is polygamy. Meanwhile, Usman decides to shock her in a video call, by telling Kimberly he wants to adopt his brother Mohamed’s young son, Mahadi.

In a teaser clip for Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Kimberly and Usman are in a video chat. During their chat, Umar shocks Kim with a major decision that would affect their future together. In fact, Usman tells her that he wants to adopt his nephew, Mahadi and raise him in the US.

Fans already know that Kimberly and Usman proposed to each other, but getting married isn’t without complications. In fact, after speaking to an immigration lawyer, Usman will not be able to marry a second wife if he wants to get his green card. Moreover, polygamy is illegal in the US, but, at 52, Kim cannot give him children as she has already raised her college-age son, Jamal.

Usman wants to adopt his nephew, Mahadi

However, Usman comes up with an idea to present his mother with a grandchild. In fact, he wants to adopt his young nephew, Mahadi. Kimberly’s reaction was, “Wait, what?”

Talking to the cameras Usman says, “If getting a second wife is not something that can happen, I think adopting my nephew, Mahadi, would be the best idea.”

Umar continued, saying how important it is in his culture and tradition to have a child. However, he says the connection between him and Mahadi is more important. Usman adds:

Like, it’s something, like, I feel him. Like, I’m very close to him, he’s very close to me. I love him. And I was thinking I would definitely love to take him to the U.S. so that he will not be as struggling as others struggling here.

Usman did admit that adopting Mohamed’s son is not the best option for his mom. However, it is something she can accept because his family said he needs to have his “own blood to be my son and Mahadi is my brother’s child. So, we are blood.”
