90 Day Fiancé Star Kim Menzies Opens Up About Her Military Background

90 Day Fiancé spoilers, news, and updates tease that Kim Menzies has served in the military. The San Diego native talked about her background when some of her fans asked about it.

Kim debuted on the show in Season 5. She was paired with Suman Umar, also known as SojaBoy. The couple is still together despite the distance and the issues they had to deal with.

The reality TV star opened up about her background in the military on Instagram. Her followers wanted to know more about it, so she was happy to oblige. Fans may recall that Kim shared that she joined the army at the age of 19 years old. She served as a secretary, but she was sent to Saudi Arabia once for Desert Storm.

In her Instagram post, Kim revealed that she was in the army from 1989 to 1996. As for Desert Storm, she went there between August 1990 and July 1991. Kim holds the army close to her heart. She’s very grateful to have served the country.

Now, aside from having a military background, reports revealed that she also had a criminal background. She may be an Army veteran, but her record isn’t as clean as she wants others to think.

It’s been reported that Kim was arrested in 2003 for forging a check, which took place back when she was in her 30s. She pleaded to the felony charge. She was sentenced to a two-year suspended sentence and was asked to pay $887.

In the recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Usman and Kim asked for the blessing of Usman’s mother for their marriage. Fans know that Usman’s family is against him marrying Kim because of their age gap.

Kim bought a cow for the family. It was a traditional gift that meant love for the family. However, Usman’s mother didn’t see it that way. She thought of the cow as a bribe instead of a well wish.

Kim defended her gift and said that it wasn’t a bribe. Usman chimed in and said that they love each other. But they stood their ground and didn’t give their blessing. “She is not your age. She’s not from your country. She doesn’t speak your language,” Usman’s brothers said.

Usman’s mother said that he had already married a white woman before, but they had problems conceiving a child. Will they be able to convince Usman’s family to let them get married?
