Former 90 Day Fiancé star Geoffrey Paschel was in court on Friday, June 24, after filing a motion for retrial but without success.

90 Day Fiancé fans will recall that Geoffrey Paschel was sentenced to 18 years behind bars on domestic violence charges. The latest news is that Paschel was in court on Friday, June 24, after filing a motion for retrial in the case. Read on to find out the latest in the TLC reality star’s case.

90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Alum Geoffrey Paschel Denied Retrial

90 Day Fiancé star Geoffrey Paschel filed a motion seeking a retrial in February, four days after he was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Paschel, 44, was convicted on charges of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls in an alleged incident featuring his former fiancé, Kristen Wilson, in June 2019.

When appearing in court on Friday, June 24, Paschel was denied his motion for retrial. However, he has been given 30 days to appeal the decision.

The former TLC reality star featured in season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with his Russian girlfriend, Varya Malina. After a rocky incident between them, Paschel and Malina, 30, were engaged during the season finale. However, news of his pending court case led to neither of the 90 Day Fiancé cast members being invited to the season’s Tell-All in 2020.

At that time, Paschel made an Instagram Live where he confirmed his legal problems led to his absence from the Tell-All. However, he also maintained his innocence. In fact, he said he wasn’t sad that he wasn’t on the Tell-All, saying “the mentality of keeping me off the Tell-All because somebody said something is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

Geoffrey went on to say he wanted his court case over and done with, saying as soon as it is over, his life will proceed. He referred to the case as “he said, she said crap,” adding that he was prepared. As noted by In Touch, he was convicted and ended up in the Northeast Correctional Complex in Mountain City, Tennessee.

In the meanwhile, Varya Malina has moved from Russia to the US and has been living in Paschel’s Tennessee home. She continues to be vocal on social media about her support for Geoffrey while looking after his pets, his home and his family. However, Varya has made no Instagram posts for a week now, so her reaction to the latest news is unknown. Meanwhile, her previous posts saw her thank her fans and followers for their support after Geoffrey went to prison.
