90 Day Fiancé alum Deavan Clegg has been keeping her followers up to date with her son Taeyang’s battle with cancer. Now it seems the tot could be suffering harmful side effects from his cancer treatment with chemo. So much so, that Deavan is becoming “very scared” for her son.

For some time now, Deavan Clegg has shared news about her and Jihoon Lee’s son, Taeyang, and his cancer battle. In fact, after her son’s third birthday in April, she revealed Taeyang’s diagnosis of B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Obviously, no parent wants to hear a diagnosis of that kind but Deavan has kept her Instagram followers up to date.

Deavan and Jihoon Lee starred in seasons 1 and 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way had a controversial marriage, leading to divorce. At that time, Deavan had accused her now ex-husband of abusing her daughter from a previous relationship, Drascilla. She returned to the US where she filed for divorce and won full custody of Taeyang.

Taeyang’s continuing cancer battle

However, now, Deavan is very scared for their son, who could have a severe case of mucositis, caused by the heavy chemo treatment for his cancer. In a recent post, she worried fans by telling them in a video that Taeyang hadn’t eaten for six days and was unable to speak. The former reality star said the doctors believe he is suffering from mucositis.

According to the website of Cleveland Clinic, Mucositis is described as an inflammation of the mucosa, the mucous membranes that line the mouth and the entire gastrointestinal tract. The website states that this is a common side effect of chemotherapy and is temporary and normally heals on its own. However, it can reportedly be very painful and does carry certain risks. Obviously, this would be an awful experience for someone as young as Deavan’s son.

Clegg continued, revealing that doctors installed a feeding tube, but Taeyang didn’t respond well. In fact, the worried mom said, “Last night he pulled it out,” adding that they were able to get it back in. However, Taeyang has reportedly got a weird rash all over his body, while his top lip has peeled badly. Deavan described this as, “Skin reaction believed to be from toxicity.” At that point, it was very clear that she was “very scared” for her son.

Since that time, Deavan has shared a new update that Taeyang was eating a little by mouth. He also started talking again about being mute for several days. She went on to thank her followers for their prayers, sharing, “It means the world to us.”

While Taeyang continues his battle with cancer, Deavan gave birth to a third child in October. However, so far the TLC reality alum hasn’t shared details of the baby. Meanwhile, it is clear that her new relationship with Korean American, Topher Park is going well and he has stepped in as Taeyang’s new dad.
