1000-Lb. Sisters fans know, Tammy Slaton has proven herself to be a very difficult sibling to deal with. All the Slaton family has been on the receiving end of some of Tammy’s antics, but Amy has taken the most as she has always been by her elder sister’s side.

In season 1 both sisters intimated their desire to lose weight and qualify for life-saving bariatric surgery. Amy remained steadfast and dedicated to losing the weight, qualified for surgery, and by the end of the second season, she was even able to have a baby boy, Gage.

However, though Amy was able to achieve her goals, Tammy has been an entirely different story having been stuck in a vicious cycle of two steps forward and three steps back.

1000-Lb. Sisters – As Tammy’s Health Declines Her Meanness Grows

Tammy was in rehab at the beginning of Season 3 of 1000-Lb. Sisters and she lost a lot of weight. But, since then, she left rehab and spiraled down until she ended up having to be placed in an induced coma.

As Tammy’s health deteriorated, her aggression toward others increased, and Amy has taken the brunt of it. Fans know that Amy recently bought her and her family a new home, essentially leaving Tammy to fend for herself. However, she has recently said that she will let Tammy move back in with her after rehab as she has no money of her own.

Fans believe that Amy continues to tolerate Tammy’s abuse for the sake of 1000-Lb. Sisters. One Redditt user shared, “If y’all don’t think this is a play for TLC and content… it is 100%.” It’s notable that all of Tammy’s siblings have taken flack for her and been there too, Slaton family followers believe that Amy has an ulterior motive for her behavior, to keep 1000-Lb. Sisters on the air.
