Tammy Slaton assuredly contended with bullies most of her life and now it seems, to 1000-Lb. Sister fans, that she has become quite adept at it herself. Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and Tammy would agree as she has dealt with an increasing amount of criticism since achieving it.

Never mind that her own mother lacked the compassion that a mother should have for her children and is probably the least compassionate person in the reality TV genre, Tammy has had to deal with bullying and abuse from various other sources throughout her life.

Since the show began fans saw how cynical Tammy’s mother Darlene was towards her children and their weight loss goals and it painted a picture of a cold hard family life. One Reddit fan described it this way, “Their mother is one of the reasons Tammy behaves the way she does.”

Although the 1000-Lb. Sisters alum’s past history with abuse is tragic, fans believe that she’s perpetuating that cycle with her own family in Season 3, fighting them at every turn as they try to assist her on her weight loss journey. Tammy’s brother Chris Combs has had to contend with Tammy barking at him and her sister Amanda Halterman has even had to deal with threats of violence.

However, it’s Tammy’s youngest sister Amy, with whom she joined 1000-Lb. Sisters, that has been bullied the most in the eyes of viewers. One Reddit fan put it most succinctly, writing, “Tammy is bullying Amy like she was bullied.”
